Green Smoothie Bowls

I would say that I have eaten a green smoothie bowl for breakfast 80-90% of mornings for the past few years. I like the balance of earthy greens and subtly sweet fruit. I like the texture and crunch of the toppings. I like how quick and easy it is to make.

I hope that you’ll enjoy it, too!

Green Smoothie Bowl

Prep Time: 5 minutes    l    Cook Time: N/A    l    Servings: 1

Ingredients

Building Blocks:
  • 1 cup
  • baby spinach/kale
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1/4 cup milk of choice (I like almond milk)
  • 1/4 cup old fashioned/rolled oats
Suggested Additions (pick and choose):
  • 1/8 cup fresh/frozen berries
  • 1 Tbsp. nut butter
  • A bit of ginger, grated
Suggested Toppings (pick and choose):
  • Nuts (I like walnuts, cashews, or pecans)
  • Chocolate chips
  • Fresh berries/fruit
  • Coconut flakes
  • Ground flax seeds

Instructions

  1. Add your building block ingredients and any additions to a blender. Blend until smooth.
  2. Pour into a bowl and add toppings. Enjoy!

Note: I prefer not to deal with the blender every day, so I like to multiply the ingredient quantities by 3-4 and store the extra servings in the refrigerator.
